Full-Time Senior Technical Artist
Your role within our Kingdom
We are now looking for an exceptionally skilled and experienced Senior Technical Artist to join our growing team and to take ownership for improving the toolset and production pipeline supporting our exciting games. We like to see that you have a strong programming/scripting background.You will work closely with the producer, internal game tech developers along game artists l team, so you need to be a very talented technical artist, good communicator and a great team player to be a match.
What you will be doing in your position
Game Engine features and Game production pipeline
Together with the team define the strategy for the company’s current and future tool and pipeline development.
Tool Development. Work with developers on new features. Concept the features and document those. Give feedback and experiment with developed features.
Monitor the current / future technologies and how they could fit into Kings internal game Technology.
Act as end user
Investigate, use and stresstest our game production toolset from the art and tech Art end-user perspective.
Cover game team’s Tech Artist current pipeline setup and extract current/future needs.
Facilitate the communication with the Artist to drive the feature set.
Help game teams integrate the tools/script into their pipeline
Assist in setup and face-2-face training
Support content creation like sample Scenes, art assets & models, template setups.
Produce instructional material like video tutorials and tutorial projects in collaboration with technical writer.
Skills To Create The Thrills
Proven track record of technical artist role within a game production (+4 years)
Good understanding of the entire game development process, from concept to live product
Deep knowledge of game engine asset production: modelling, texturing, shaders, rigs and particle systems
Understanding about game engine asset’s technical requirements: performance /memory budgets, workflows and asset pipelines.
Deep knowledge about Maya and Photoshop
Strong scripting and plug-in writing skills with (preferably Maya & Photoshop)
Experience leading Tech Artists to create workflows and tool chains, and support a fast-moving art production environment
Experience mentoring/teaching Tech Artists, providing feedback and offering guidance on best practices and new approaches to junior staff
You have shipped at least one mobile or AAA game in the past
Tasty Bonus Skills
Software: Spine, 3DS Max, Illustrator
Basic knowledge of C++
Scripting: C#, HLSL, GLSL, LUA, MaxScript
Framework: Qt – PyQt/PySide
Unity3D or Unreal (preferable mobile projects)
A portfolio demonstrating the aspects of your skills is required. Also a work test can be requested for you to fulfil
